Sometime around 1980s South Goa observed a crucial development with the construction of Salaulim Dam.
This project aimed to solve the water supply concerns of the region, but progress is seldom with sacrifices.
The development of such scale demanded people from about 20 villages to relocate from their homeland.
Owing to the sacrifices of these villagers today south Goa boons from the abundant water supply.
But that’s not all, every year a rare event transpires - the village of Curdi surfaces when the water dries up during summers and the ‘Kurdikars’ (residents of Curdi) pay homage to native land.
They pray and perform rituals every year at the village of Curdi. Villagers may have sacrificed their land for greater good Goa but their home still continues to live in their hearts.
Important note: The rituals are only performed only once in the entire duration of the village being accessible. Contact Soul Travelling to get complete details on this village excursions.
