 Fontainhas area located in Panjim city of Goa came into existence due to a plague outbreak in the Old Goa (Goa's capital city then)

The architecture style in Fontainhas area has a strong Indo-Portuguese influence. 

There is reason why the lanes of Latin Quarters, Fonatinhas are bright and colourful.

Goans wanted their homes to be colourful and those were the only colours they had back then. The reds came from laterite, the yellows from burning lime, the blues from indigo and the greens from mixing blue and yellow.

Tourists mostly visit Fontainhas to click aesthetic pictures and visiting cafes and bars, but true exploration involves lots more.
